Common Interview Questions & Answer Guidance

Q1: What are the primary objectives and target groups under Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK)?

Answer Guidance: Explain that RBSK is an initiative under NHM aimed at early identification and intervention for children from birth to 18 years, covering the 4Ds: Defects at birth, Diseases, Deficiencies, and Development delays including disability. Pharmacists in Mobile Health Teams ensure uninterrupted supply of essential pediatric formulations, micronutrient syrups, and oral rehydration therapy.

Q2: How do you maintain the cold chain for temperature-sensitive drugs and vaccines in remote island PHCs?

Answer Guidance: State that biologicals and vaccines must be stored strictly between 2°C and 8°C in Ice-Lined Refrigerators (ILRs). Twice-daily temperature logs, dial thermometer monitoring, use of conditioned ice packs in vaccine carriers during outreach visits, and backup power supply arrangements are essential practices in island health facilities.

Q3: What precautions must a Pharmacist observe while dispensing pediatric liquid oral formulations?

Answer Guidance: Explain that pediatric dosages depend strictly on age and body weight. Pharmacists must verify pediatric dosage calculations, explain proper reconstitution of dry syrups using boiled and cooled water, instruct parents on shelf life after reconstitution (typically 5 to 7 days), and supply graduated measuring droppers/spoons.
